Release Your Team Into Their Strengths

StrengthsFinder 2.0

StrengthsFinder 2.0Knowing your strengths, weakness, and personality traits will help you lead a more fulfilled life.  As a pastor or ministry leader it is crucial to having a well functioning staff and ministry.  Each person is created by God as an individual with specific gifts and talents.  Your ministry will run more smoothly when those gifts and talents are put to use.

For many years, we’ve so focused on our weaknesses.  While working to strengthen those weak muscles, we’ve neglected the strong muscles. Anyone over 30 that has not made time to work out can tell you that even the strongest muscle when it is not used will lose its strength.

If you are looking to create a new ministry team or rework your current team, the best place to start is by learning what our strengths are and then learning even more about how we function in those strengths.

Strengths Finder 2.0 is a great place to start.

You can simply purchase a book  (Kindle version here) with the access code to take the test.  The book is a great resource for understanding your strengths in a more fundamental and detailed way.

Bryce and I took this test as we began working with Canvas Church this last Fall.  It has been great to not only use in ministry but also to use in our home.  If you use this tool with your team, you will absolutely find this to be a great asset to your ministry and life.

Have you taken the Strengths Finder Assessment? What are some things you found out about yourself? If you brought your team through it, or were a part of a team, how did it affect the how your team functions?
